Independence Day Of Srilanka

Prior to the 1972 Sri Lanka was known as Ceylon. For over a century in Sri Lanka is a British crown colony, but February 4, 1948 the country received its independence officially the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka. Don Stephen Senanayake became the first prime minister of Sri Lanka.Because the ability of the freedom of British colonial rule, Sri Lanka has been a stable democracy and sustainable economic growth, despite the military conflict with the separatist group called the LTTE in recent years.Independence Day of Sri Lanka is a major national event celebrated in parades and processions in the spirit of patriotism and national ylpeyden.Juhlat begin hoisting the national flag and sing the national anthem, followed by the traditional lamp lighting ceremony.
